Barry Harrison ESM - Chair
General Manager/Indigenous Engagement Manager Mirnutharntu Maya – Accommodation facility in Port Hedland.
With over 35 years of experience in Tourism and Business Management, he is a highly motivated self-starter with an excellent work ethic.
His excellent communication skills allow him to effectively network with people at all levels of business and the community. Barry also sits on the Tourism WA Cruise Ship Committee. In his spare time Barry volunteers for the State Emergency Service and Activate South Hedland community group.

Drew Norrish
As CEO of Mackerel Islands Pty Ltd, Drew oversees three very unique properties in the Pilbara region - Onslow Beach Resort, Mackerel Islands (Thevenard and Direction Islands), and the iconic Karijini Eco Retreat. 

Working his way from Island Manager to CEO, he has 14 years of experience both operationally and at an executive level in the ANW region. He also has experience in the management of well-established marine tourism business in Europe. 

Drew holds a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Management, is Deputy Chair of Australia's Northwest Tourism, and is an active participant in the tourism and hospitality industry in WA.

Owner / Operator of Pilbara Dive and Tours which provides professional scuba diving experiences and guided tours in and around the Karratha area located in Western Australia.

With more than 20 years of experience, Pilbara Dive and Tours will help you explore both below and above the water.

Rachel Banyard - Treasurer
Born and bred in the Midwest of WA, Rachel has worked in the accommodation, mining, and NGO sectors throughout WA, SA & the NT.

Currently working as the Workforce BDM representing WA & SA for Discovery Parks, she is passionate about helping the remote tourism businesses thrive in the Pilbara.

Prior to this she worked for the national marketplace Welcome to Country managing the Experience Development for Western Australia and South Australia.
Kim has over 25 years’ experience in tourism industry. Her expansive experience includes Aboriginal tourism business development, Regional Manager with Tourism WA, Product Development Manager for Australia’s North West region with Tourism WA, National Park Management, Trade mentoring through the Tourism Council WA and destination management.
Kim is empathetic, motivated, creative, and most importantly, she is driven to showcase and support Aboriginal businesses to ensure they thrive and prosper. Kim is recognised through this industry for her compassion and devotion to the niche tourism market of Aboriginal Tourism.
Having worked and lived regionally, Kim and has gained extensive knowledge and understanding of issues which impact Indigenous people, communities, and their businesses. Over this time Kim has formed extremely strong network of tourism operators and businesses encompassing tourism, Aboriginal Corporations, land managers, government, and general tourism stakeholders across Australia.

John O'Neil
Manager Economic Development and Tourism, Shire of East Pilbara;


John is a successful economic and tourism development professional. After a fulfilling and prosperous career in private industry, he transitioned to economic development, investor attraction, tourism activation, and local government advocacy and marketing.

Using his extensive experience, abilities, and executive networks, John is now dedicated to developing the economic and tourism investment and activation potential of the largest local government council by area in Australia, the Shire of East Pilbara.
